Pushing a painting to learn

I often add to demo paintings when I get home. As they are generally not worthy of exhibiting due to limited time spent on them teaching, I use them play and experiment, sometimes different techniques or maybe a new colour. There is a freedom to push them further that you don't find with a new sheet of paper that is set up for a more serious piece of work. I found it hard to put my brushes down on this one, kept adding bits each day until it told me it was enough. Mostly they don't work out and often are overworked, but this I liked and thankfully stopped before that stage. This was initially a demo painting for 2-day workshop at The Old School Studio Pure #watercolour on Arches papers 130lb NOT
